Fired Apples

Easy, sweet, and delicious! If you are camping or have an outdoor fire, these apples make a great treat!

Fired Apples
Apples (any kind except Granny Smith)
butter
Cinnamon/sugar mixture

With a sharp knife, cut core out of apples by going through the top and scraping the sides. Be careful not to poke through the bottom skin of the apple. Place 1/2-1 tsp of butter in each apple. Sprinkle lots of cinnamon/sugar mixture on top. Place apple in center of foil. Bring sides of foil to the top and crimp closed. Place directly in fire. Allow to cook until sides of apple are soft, about 5-10 minutes. Take apples off of fire and allow to cool several minutes before unwrapping. Place in a bowl and unwrap foil. Be careful, apples will be extremely hot.

These must be delicious... we never get the chance to have an outdoor fire... which is a pity!
I live in the town centre in a block of apartments. We don't even have a fireplace but only central heating.
I remember some outdoor fires we used to make when I lived in Malta, we usually had some nice big fires on the beach every time our family organised a beach bar b q. Those were wonderful beach parties!

Sue.

Mmmmm, I love cinnamon and your Fired Apples look so yummy!
I wonder if you can have the same effect on a bar-b-q.

Nice memories eh Sue, I sure do remember those days (s*i*g*h)!
