Sewing for a Good Cause

I have a cute little story to tell!
Jaiden goes to church with Ryan's mom every Sunday (small Methodist 100-200 people). This Sunday the pastor is telling the congregation that the church will be collecting school supplies and school bags for children. He is going over the supplies they want and he tells that the school bags need to be handmade. The pastor is relaying the instructions and says, "If anyone knows how to sew, please help by making some bags." Well, Jaiden stands up in front of the whole church and announces, "My mommy sews!" My MIL said the the whole church laughed! So, it looks as though I have been "volunteered" to make some school bags.

Last night, Jaiden and I went and bought $30 of fabric from Walmart to make some bags. We are going to try to make at least 30 before the June 14th deadline. Apparently the church is collecting bags and supplies on behalf of the Midwest Methodist Council and are asking all the Methodist churches in the Midwest to contribute to their cause. If anyone is interested, you can find the pattern HERE.

Oh that is absolutely such a wonderful story...Jaiden is so sweet and generous to stand up and volunteer on your behalf...wish I had been there : )
Enjoy making the bags and think of how many children will benefit from your talent and Jaiden's offer. Well done!
Hugs and Blessings,
Doreen
